sysML beta and production 6.5 issues
« on: September 07, 2006, 11:07:16 am »
my sysML beta 2 is not functioning with the new 6.5 (build 797)release.  Complains about not being licensed even after uninstall/reinstall.

Anyone else seeing this behavior ?

Interestingly enough, I can open an already saved model which contains sysML and it (generally anyway) seems to work.  Just can't add it to an EAP that doesn't already have it......

Bob,

I get the impression that this was meant to be an added cost product. Somehow the beta links were lost when build 797 brought EA 6.5 to production.

I have filed a bug report about the missing links. You should file a bug report directly to Sparx regarding the invalid license.

I knew SysML is an added cost product, but it has not yet been released for sale, hence my expectation that the beta would still operate.

I had a copy of beta2 installation stored locally so I didn't know the links were questionable.

That's my point: I suspect that the beta is not working because of an 'oops' in Sparx' release process. If you report the problem they might either resolve the issue so you can continue to work with the beta until they finish work on the add-in, or publish the add-in to production if development is complete.

As it is, people who were working with these tools are currently in limbo, since we have no information either way.
