Making "Hide All Labels" a default setti
« on: February 02, 2006, 09:02:25 am »
I am using Enterprise Architect for database modeling.  I need to make the following display options as default:
- Hide all labels on the associations between the tables
- Hide all stereotypes on the tables
- Hide indexes, foreign keys, etc

Otherwise the database diagrams looks too crowded and my management is on my case! And changing each association and property is so-o-o cumbersome...

Thanks!

Yes, this is realy frustrating. Is Sparx going to do something about it in the near future?

I don't know, but I find the occasional necessity to go through a few diagrams and switch all the connector label visibilities to the same (non EA default) settings really annoying.

My suggestion is that you start this ball rolling by:
  • 'Formally' request that Sparx add an Options page for connector visibility settings; do this from the EA main menu via Help | On-line Resources | Request-a-Feature.
  • Start a thread in the Suggestions and Requests section of this forum, so that other users can voice their support; this will help to let Sparx prioritize this feature. There will probably be broad support - I'll certainly add my vote.
No, you can't have it!

Thanks
I'd belived that this is so basic that someone had already done that, so I didn't went on doing that. I guess I should.

It's one of those things where most everyone that's thought of it has assumed - like you and I - that it had been handled elsewhere.

I've been fighting other fires and have not started the 'push.' So, since we've got an impromtu committee of two I thought I'd delegate this to the chair...
