System wide visibility of EA Window
« on: November 17, 2006, 12:36:03 am »
Hi
My EA Window is alway hiding all other applications, despite they have the focus (int the same way as the task manager does). This behaviour stayed as I updated fom version 6.1 to 6.5.  Can anybody help?
regards, ranjan

Strange.

Do you have Always opened maximized checked in Tools | Options?
No, you can't have it!

Ooooh, that's the answer I was afraid of.

The maximize-at-startup option has no effect on my problem.

I had (have?) this problem with the help window of EA. But this looks like one of these tiny sleep-savers-oh-I-have-to-reinstall-windows problems.

The help window always behaved like that as I know. Couldn't it be a registry entry. The system-wide visibility can be set on any window you like, so maybe it's a hidden feature??

sorry, installing windows is not one of my hobbies.

Might be, but I'm not a Windoze guru to know that. Anyone else?

After all I found a solution myself:
- Deinstallation
- Removing the whole regestry subtree HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sparx Systems
- Installation

As a reinstallation only is not succeeding, I think my guess could be right, that some registry entry could be responsible for the systemwide visibility. At least removing the registry subtree is the action, that makes it work.

Thanks, Ranjan

On the menu bar under "Windows" there is an "Always On Top" option. If this is set, unset it.
