Reverse engineering
« on: January 22, 2007, 05:56:09 am »
I have just started using Enterprise Architect and am trying to import my source tree and have a couple of questions.

Is it possible to get comments in the code translated into class notes?

After I have reverse engineered the code, I then enter some text for class notes, then this text is not included in the code subsequently generated.

If anyone can help it sure would be appreciated

Many thanks

Yes, EA does handle comments going both ways.  However, there are options to suppress this behaviour on the Source Code Engineering page of the options dialog.

The only exception to this is that Visual Basic (as in VB6, not VB.Net) code engineering will only generate notes initially, but it can't reverse engineer class notes or update the notes found in code for the class.
