EA .rtf generation and OpenOffice.org
« on: January 22, 2007, 01:55:55 pm »
OpenOffice doesn't seem to support the .rtf documents that ea creates.  I believe this has something to do with the way that data sources are used to store info.

Has anybody had any luck with OpenOffice.org opening these generated .rtfs?

Thanks

If you have access to MS Word, perhaps you can open and save as a Word document. Still RTF internally, but perhaps the changes Word makes in the conversion process will render it usable.

If not, perhaps WordPad could do something similar.
No, you can't have it!

Hello Midnight,

Thank you for your reply.  I did try both of your suggestions, to no evail.  As a matter of fact Word Pad even has a problem viewing any of the images generated.

Thanks again

Try enabling the 'Overwrite document fields' option in the 'Generate Options' dialog before generating.

That did it!
Thanks.  My first time using the support forum was a great experience.

Fantastic product by the way.
