Hiding attribute types
« on: January 30, 2007, 11:34:32 am »
I'm building a Business Model, with attributes identified within classes. Since it is a Business (not Development)Model, I don't want to restrict the types that may be implemented by the development team. Therefore, the names of the attributes should be displayed, but not their type (i.e. "numberOfClients: int" would be displayed as "numberOfClients"). Is there a way to hide the type when building a Class Diagram?

In the current build the only way you can do it is to not give the attributes a type.  In a future build there will be an option to hide the type regardless.

I've asked for this before, but with no luck.

Please make a request to Sparx, since this will add the weight of another user to the request.

The best way to go about this is as follows:

First, start a new thread in the Suggestions and Requests section of the forum. Ask for what you want there. This allows others to express their support (I certainly will!). It also sparks (pun intended) debate and ideas relating to the feature. Sparx monitors this from time to time, and can get an idea of the level of interest from the community.

Once you've done this submit a feature request directly to Sparx. This gets the request into their 'hopper' and into their sights. In your request include a link to the thread you started above (you can cut and paste). This lets Sparx know where to look for further interest.

You can reach the feature request page by clicking the Support link at the top of a forum page and using the left-side menu of the resulting page. You can also reach the request page from the EA main menu via Help | On-line Support | Request-a-Feature.
