DOORS EA LINK help

I have a few questions on how this works in general.  I am a co-op working for a company where they are handling their requirments traceablility through DOORS.  They also are trying to link DOORS to EA using a MDG Link for DOORS.  My question is more so general.  How do I know if the two are linked together?  What should it look like?  Maybe I should start witht he question what is linking??  As you can see I need help... anything at all would be great.  Thanks
