Question: File size when controlling packages
« on: September 14, 2006, 03:30:12 pm »
Question:  Why does my file size EXPLODE when I control packages and save to XML files?

I'm stuck using clearcase so I have to control packages using the saved XML files.  However, in doing so I 've noticed my .eap file size has gone from a couple megs to over 60 megs.

The saved xml packages aren't even close to that big.  The eap file before the saving of packages wasn't close to being that big.  What happend?

Thanks,
Jeff

Try running Tools | Manage .EAP File | Compact .EAP File from the main menu of EA.

See http://www.sparxsystems.com/EAUserGuide/index.html?o548.htm

It may not help, but then again it may.

That did...  I'm back to a reasonable size again.  Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

I'm not sure if you are still working at the same place.  If you are I'd like to talk to you about EA and using ClearCase to version control the xml files.

Thanks,

Linda
