Hello everybody,
Usability, usability, usability... there is no much talking about it here, ah?
EA 6.5 build 804 is used
I'm working on restructuring of our source code that needs a lot of manual input for many classes. Thus, the ease of use is turning out to be quite important for me. Unfortunately, UI design is kind a weakness of EA, and there are just some of small but critical things that make the life of an EA user tough.
Custom SQL reports:
- Is it possible to look up all other information like Maintenance or Testing from the custom report? (it's true it's possible to open the dialog with the class properties for the selected record, though) There are Object_ID and eaguid fields in the report that don't help it at all. Should I add any other fields?
- when I open the dialog with properties and press the button "Attributes..." (or "Operations...) on it, the report is re-executed. First, it takes time slowing the popping up of the attribute dialog; second, I'm loosing the record I have been at before
- the classes are not locatable in Project Browser (any field that might help?)
- it would be great to have and be able to use the Usage item in pop up menu
Search / Report window:
- hot keys from View menu don't work at all
- there is no Package column
General things:
- when the EA application gets back input focus, it looses the window that has been in focus before
Are there any tips what might help me?
Or is it better to report all this as a bug or a feature request?
Thanks!
