Applying custom stereotype from toolbox
« on: April 20, 2007, 12:13:59 pm »
I just moved from EA 6.1 to EA 6.5 and notice a change in behavior I would like to understand.

In 6.1, I created a UML Profile that (among other things) extends the Interface metaclass to add a new stereotype 'foo' and changes the appearance to have a thicker border line.  I use this profile from the toolbox.

In 6.1, I could change an existing interface to the 'foo' stereotype by selecting my foo stereotype from my custom toolbox and clicking on the existing interface on a class diagram.  The interface would have the stereotype assigned and the appearance would change.  Great.

In 6.5, using the same model I get a slightly different result.  After selecting my foo stereotype and clicking on an existing interface, a new interface is created with the stereotype and appearance but the existing interface remains unchanged.  Changing the stereotype of the existing interface to foo does not change the border width.

Is there a way to fully apply my UML profile defined appearance changes to existing elements or is this a bug?

Many thanks,
Mike
