Autonumbering <<Something>>
« on: April 23, 2007, 07:03:28 am »
So how does one specify when creating a new <<Something>> to increment a number (1.0, 1.1, etc.) and fill in a field (Alias ? Tagged value). Specifically I am looking at loading in requirements and don't want to hand enter arbitrary requirement numbers.

thx.

You can auto number your elements (be it requirments, use cases etc), by selecting the Auto naming Counters from the Settings menu.  You will need to select the 'Type' from the drop down and then enter your prefix (e.g. REQ) for Requirements, then the Counter (e.g.001)and any suffix you may have.

Hope this helps.

This feature is a bit limited, though. There has been a thread discussing a wider functionality, but it has ceased later...
