Hello Everybody..
I'm trying to make a use case stereotyped class that can change color acoording to a given attribute ( just like status color in the requirement element )
I tried to use the "type=color" tagged value.. but it does not change the color - only updating it's value
I know I can define a stereotype class with a specific color, import the profile and drag the element - but I need the ability to change the use case color at anytime according to a specific status / tagged value..
Thanks in advance

EA is able to draw status colors on use cases.  Look at Settings | General Types | Status Types  | Applies To.  This effects the shadow color of use cases.

If you want it to change the entire color, have a look at http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=general;action=display;num=1178890371 for a brief example of how to change the background color of a shape using a shape script.  This can be extended to check various tagged values etc.

Just a tip Yossi,

I stumble over this myself from time to time - in fact I forgot this while doing a quick demo yesterday...

Even remembering to set the option to display shadows - which is set on by default, but I often turn it off - you'll not see the pretty colors very often.

Open a project in EA - these settings are project-specific, but see below for how to handle that - and from the main menu choose Settings | General Types. In EA 6.5 you'll choose the type you are interested in (i.e. requirement types, statuses, etc.) from the next menu level. In EA 7.0 they are all available using the tabbed dialog you've just invoked.

You now have to choose each type (whether it is a new one you've added, or one that is already provided), and open the Applies To dialog. Ensure that any element type you want to display colors is checked in the list (most are not checked by default). Note that this applies for each individual entry on each general type list. It is a bit of work, but allows you total flexibility.

Once you've got this working the way you like, you can export the settings using Export Reference Data, and import them into another project. Remember that this will replace the target project's settings. You will find directions in the EA help; it's not difficult.

If you need these to be your overall default settings for new projects, you will have to import them into the EABase project that was installed along with EA.

No, you can't have it!
