MDG Link vs. MDG Integration
« on: June 13, 2007, 03:59:28 am »
Hi,

Can somebody explain to me what the difference and/or the relationship is between 'MDG Integration for Visual Studio 2005' and 'MDG Link for Visual Studio .NET'?

I can't figure it out from the website.

I own 'Enterprise Architect' and 'MDG Integration for Visual Studio 2005' (and 'Visual Studio 2005').

Do I still need 'MDG Link for Visual Studio .NET'?

Regards
Ruud

Ruud,

AFAIK the other product is for linking to VS 2003. You have the correct combination of products and do not need more.

I believe there is a beta of the next version of your MDG product, concurrent with the EA 7.0 beta. I do not know if there will be a name change.

Thanks.

Probably you are right. Wish they made that more clear on the website.

What is also a bit confusing is that, after only installing EA and MDG Integration for VS 2005, in the installation folder I also find some files which seem to belong to MDG Link for VS .NET.

I suspect that these are the result of the common heritage of the two add-ins. The 2005 has broader functionality that the 2003 variant, but still does the same core work.
