sequence diagram actor without lifeline

Hi,

I'm trying to create a sequence diagram.  To create, I select the 'interaction diagram' section and drag and drop the actor from the interaction diagram section.  I don't see the lifeline with the actor.  How do I create an actor on the sequence diagram with a lifeline.
