If there is an End Event,
« on: July 18, 2007, 10:39:40 pm »
there must be at least one Start Event. That's the textual part of error MVR800003 which EA throws when I run Model Validation over my BPMN diagram. However, I DO have a Start Event in this diagram, conneceted to the End Event, indirectly of course. What's wrong with this?

Hi Martinique,

Here are some suggestions to try while we wait for someone who knows the answer.

I am guessing, since I've not seen the model.

Have you ensured that all subprocesses derive from the (or any) start event? Are you sure you are using the correct flows?

Have you used any non-BPMN constructs in your model?

Finally, how did you create the original diagram? Are you sure that the model knows it is a BPMN diagram? [EA version 6.5 and earlier relied on the BPMN add-in to create diagrams. The add-in tagged or stereotypes (or something) the diagram in some way to inform EA that it was BPMN-specific. I don't know how closely EA 7.0 follows this procedure.]
