BPMN Shape scripts
« on: July 31, 2007, 07:39:41 pm »
I am using Build 814 with the BPMN AddIn. I would like to view/modify the shape scripts for the BPMN elements but cannot find a way to do it. I cannot see the stereotypes it is using in Settings->UML->Stereotypes. Any ideas? Is it possible?
Cheers, Mark

Yes, this is a bit of a catch-22. Sparx seems to have included the BPMN add-in with version 7.0. Excellent idea, but somehow the shapes have become integrated into the product. The scripts disappeared as part of this process.

We seem to be in a situation where we cannot get at the shapes as classifiers in their own right, but we cannot get at the scripts.

Sparx, any ideas on how we can handle this?

No, you can't have it!

Yes it is possible. I spoke with Sparx yesterday and they pointed me in the right direction (thanks guys).

All you need to do is import the MDG Technology file for BPMN and then you can modify the shape scripts in the normal way. The MDG Technology file can be found in the MDGTechnology folder in the install directory of EA.
Cheers, Mark

That sounds reasonable Mark. Still, this is something that needs to be better documented, and in a more accessible way.
