Scenario visibility
« on: August 03, 2007, 04:01:49 pm »
In the property section of my Use Case element, I've declared several scenarios.  How do I get them to appear on my Use Case diagram?   :-/

Hi Jim,

I thought I knew, but (I guess, like you) I tried all the usual suspects and there doesn't seem to be a way to do it...

Looks like the the Unique Interface strikes again...

I guess Paolo already tried that (I can't do it here from my Mac): Notes/Attach to Element Feature. Does that offer a scenario? If not his should be worth a feature request.

Yes, Thomas, I did, but it only allows one at a time - you'd need one per scenarios which would

a) be a real pain to set up
b) make for a very cluttered diagram.

I would request an additional compartment for Use Cases to list the set of scenarios.  You could then switch to compartment (rectangular) notation to display them - you'd also need support in the Set Feature Visibility... Ctrl+shift+Y  and the Diagram properties

My suggestion in: Displaying compartments for Classifiers for an alternate method for displaying Classifier compartments would be useful in this case if Jim didn't want to use Rectangular Notation.

I have no problem with Rectangular Notation on some diagrams as long as I can use the standard elliptical notation for the same Use Case on other, less detailed diagrams.

Also, see my comments in the above referenced Displaying compartments for Classifiers thread.
