Importing OpenEdge DB 10.1a or 10.1b
« on: June 26, 2007, 11:07:24 am »
Gentlemen,

I tried to import my db via ODBC. I can see my tables but when I select a specific one I have the ODBC error:

DataDirect ODBC OPENEDGE driver Number of Bound Columns exceeds the number of result columns.

I'm sure it use to work cause I have a partial model that I want to complete....

Any clues... EA version 6.5 build 806 - unicode...

I'm having the same problem with OE10.1b-sp2 and EA 7.0.817

There was some sort of error reported a while back that looked similar.

I think it was with MySql or PostgreSQL, but I don't remember for sure. In any case, there was a setting that needed to be made and then EA imported correctly.

Try searching the forum for more information. Be persistent, the search engine can be quite difficult to work with sometimes.

You will not be able to import an OpenEdge database schema in this way.  Right now, you should get the MDG technology developed by Phillip Magnay at PSC, which can be found on PSDN attached to his Exchange presentation "ARCH–6: UML Modeling with Enterprise Architect" or on OpenEdge Hive here http://www.oehive.org/node/989 .

You will probably want to stay tuned to the content here http://www.oehive.org/EA for additional options and information.

Thanks Thomas,

That's a much cleaner path.
