UML Actor Labels
« on: October 01, 2007, 07:27:48 am »
I intially established all my actors in my top level Use Case.  I add them to my lower level use case by pasting them into the new diagram asd a simple link.  This brings the actor into the new use case, but attaches a note stating wheer the actor (element), originally came from (top level Use Case).  How do I remove the label identifying where the actor came from???

There used to be an option to highlight foreign objects.

I cannot seem to find it in version 7.0.

Anyone know where this has managed to hide itself?

No, you can't have it!

Have you tried right-clicking on the label.  I haven't tried this for the case you are describing, but for things like a label showing the stereotype of an association, the right-click menu includes Hide Label.  A bit annoying to have to do it every time, but it works.

Hi,

It's now "Show Namespace".  Right-click diagram, go to Diagram tab, uncheck 'Show Namespace'.    It think it used to be 'highlight foreign...' something or other.

That's part of the equation Gary, but not the whole thing. The Show Namespace option will prevent the name being prefixed by the namespace. However, it does not control the (from <package>) display of a foreign element.

The two options used to cooperate somewhat, but only one seems to be there now.
