Editing a custom UML Profile
« on: October 04, 2007, 06:10:09 pm »
I'm currently using EA 6.5.804.

I have a EA project that is typically used as a base project, serving much like a template for a specific type of documentation.

This project has a custom UML Template that contains a handful of domain-specific UML entities.  I'd like to add a few more elements to this existing custom UML profile.

I see some good documentation on creating UML profiles, but I haven't found anything on the website or in this forum that describes the process of adding or modifying those profiles.

I could create a new UML profile with the existing elements and add my new ones, but this will create an extra, unused profile each time I need to modify it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers,
b

:(  You need the source package in EA to modify the profiles. I onces had a chat with a Sparxian and he had the same opinion like me: it should be easy to import a profile for modification (like you import it for using it). For unknown reason this is not possible until now. :( :(

Bummer.  When you say "until now", do you mean that editing UML profiles is possible/easier in a more recent version?

No. I mean until now and until Sparx will allow to import it somwhen in the future...
