Importing images
« on: October 07, 2007, 03:14:57 pm »
I am trying to import external images into my business process model (using BPMN add-in).

Unfortunately I am unable to do it. I followed the instructions on the website and downloaded the image library. Still no luck.

I am able to go to Settings > Images to select the image. I can select and view the image I want to import. On clicking 'Ok' the image does not get imported to my diagram.

I have also tried selecting an element and then going to Appearance > Set Alternate Image. Still no luck.

Would appreciate some help!

The elements in a BPMN diagram (ie Task etc) are controlled by  Shape Scripts for a stereotype. I suspect the shape script will override any alternate image set for an element. "Appearance > Set Alternate Image" is the correct thing to do but I dont think it is appropriate in a BMPN diagram (at least for its stereotyped elements) as that is not part of the standard.  Try doing the "Appearance > Set Alternate Image" on a normal element/class in a diagram.

Cheers, Mark
