Document Generation
« on: November 27, 2007, 02:10:16 pm »
Hi All,

I am wondering if anybody has tried the Document Generator of EA. I want to use it for a particular purpose and it would be great if somebody could suggest a way out.

I created a simple use case diagram and added a document element to it. (Available from the Common elements on the left panel). This document has just one para of information in there.

Now when I generate documentation for this use-case diagram, ( I check the include linked documents, include child elements, tagged-values, etc.) but I do not see the contents of the Document [\b] in the EA generated RTF document. It only shows that there exists a document element and its relation with the use-case.

Has anybody tried this before? Any thoughts?

Thanks

Did you select the Model Documents checkbox in the RTF Style Template Editor?

See the Help topic on Linked Documents (which is what you create when you use the Document Artifact element).

Also, did you use a template? I don't know if this affects the generation of RTF documents. You said the document contained 'just one para'.

HTH
