Importing Schema from ODBC: Notes are lost

I generated my database schema from a design that I had made in EA. Since EA is not the best tool for all DB design tasks I made some modifications outside EA and reverse engineered my model by re-importing the schema using ODBC. Everything works fine except that all my documentation is lost. Did I make something wrong? I don't believe that this is "by design".
