Team Foundation Server Error: 30063
« on: September 19, 2007, 03:13:18 pm »
I'm trying to get TFS registered as the version control server for EA v7.0.815.  Whenever I attempt to "save" the configuration, I get the following error:

Error while initializing Version Control Provider
TFS reports he following error:
TF30063: You re not authorized to access [IP of our TFS Server]

I'm presently working with TFS through Visual Studio 2005 on the same box and can issue commands to TFS from the command line.  I've been told by the TFS administrator that I have full rights to TFS.

Does anyone know what is causing this problem and/or how to fix it?

Thanks

Well it turns out that I haven't had to actually sign into Team Foundation Server in months and they had changed my login username.  Once I got the correct username (with password), I was able to get the configuration to take.

Sigh...

Mom always said there's be days like that. [You should see some of the ones I've pulled off.]

Thanks for closing the loop Jerome.

Hi,

has anybody found a solution for this problem? I get the same error if I reopen a project which I checked in before (without errors).
My authorization on TFS server is absolutely ok!!!

Thanks, Gangolf

I wonder if the project stored your credentials. If so, something needs to be updated.

And if so there is also a bug report to be made. It sounds like there's a synchronization issue somewhere.

In the meantime, go to the Registered Users page and send in a support request. Perhaps Sparx has seen this; they may have a quick fix.

Hi,

yes, the project stores the credentials when you configure package control/version control settings.
But they are correct otherwise the checkin would not have been possible.
I found out that if I restore the settings (without changing it) the connection to TFS works sometimes and I can do a checkout.
May be it is a timeout problem - but on the other side when I open the project the error appears very quickly.

I am not yet a registred user (and don't know how to become one, but I send a mail to Sparx in this regards) but as soon as I am I write that bug report.

Thanks, Gangolf

Hi Gangolf,

If you (or your organization) bought a license - rather than just running the evaluation version - you should be registered. When you purchased your software Sparx (or their resellers) should have sent you an email with your product key. The same email has a username and password to sign into the Registered Users part of the Sparx site.

If you have a corporate license, you may have to get your IT folks - substitute whoever it is that manages your software configuration - do the 'legwork' for you on this. Depending on company policy they may want to hold this information closely.

Hi,

I have reported the bug now - and have found a work around.

When I have reopened the project I am not connected to TFS (because of the error). So in Project Browser I go to Package Control/Version Control Settings (as I did when I set up version control) and retype my password. When I save the configuration the connection will be built up correctly. Strange, isn't it!

The next time I open the project I get the same error, but using this trick I can connect at least somehow.

Thanks, Gangolf
