Minimal DB privileges to Import Schema via ODBC
« on: February 26, 2008, 03:57:02 am »
What are the minimal privileges needed to import a Database Schema from a Microsoft SQL server via ODBC into EA ?

I know I could use the DB admin user to do this.  However I require all DB user accounts to have minimal privileges granted as part of good governance programme.

The db account used by EA will be used to monitor & audit changes between development, reference & live platforms and I want to guard against accidental change.

I don't seem to be able to find a specific mention of this in the manual.

thanks

Martin

I suspect these vary by DBMS. At the very least you would have to have enough privilege to view tables, keys and other DBMS entities.
No, you can't have it!
