Frustrated with the ordering process....
« on: February 25, 2008, 03:37:25 am »
I made an order more than 2 days ago - and the status remains 'Unprocesses', and this is getting me very frustrated.

I contacted RegSoft, and they say they are "investigating". I mean - in this days and age, how long does it take to charge a credit card?

If something went wrong, it would have been much more professional for RegSoft to reject the transaction outright, where I can try another credit card, or resubmit the order again. It could be a typo somewhere that could be fixed in a matter of minutes. Now I am completely helpless, and the evaluation license is running out .....

Don't panic Yee,

This is probably a short-term problem, and can be solved.

I suggest you mention this issue to Sparx sales directly. They can at least extend your evaluation key. You'll find their contact information on the About Us page. Just follow the link at the top right of any forum page. Scroll down almost to the bottom of the page and you'll see their email address. Remember that they are in Australia, so keep the time zones in mind.

It seems you are having an issue with RegSoft, who are a separate company from Sparx. Of course Sparx should be interested if there are issues with a corporate partner, but RegSoft are the people who need to get the immediate problem solved.

In any case, the good news is that the EA projects you create with the evaluation version of EA are completely valid. They will work without modification or limitation with your Professional Edition when you finally receive your credentials from RegSoft.

HTH, David

Got it sorted out. Thanks.

I have used/evaluated no less than 7 opensource/licensed UML tools, and EA is a clear winner. MagicDraw is nice - but the price is simply beyond reach - especially when I have to recommend the tool to my clients.

It took a bit for me to learn EA, and I am still learning. But the efforts has been worth while.

EA should be better known. It took me some 4 months of serious searching before I stumbled on it. I know it is hard to break into the US dominated scene, but I hope you guys can improve on this.

Good work guys.

Best regards,
Yee

The main thing is that you are up and running. Good news there.

As Jan Glas says, the learning curve is steep. You will sometimes see the acronym EAUI here in the forum. This continues to make the curve steeper.

As to 'us guys' remember that this is a user forum, although the Sparx folks do participate actively.

All the best,
David
