Maintenance items on elements
« on: March 15, 2008, 02:48:59 pm »
I've been toying with the concept of using the Maintenance workspace to keep track of issue lists I have with specific Use Cases and other elements.  I'll nod my head "yes" till it falls off answering the question "isn't that a project managers responsibility?"  But we all live in reality here so I have to track my own.

The idea works very well for me.  However I do not see a way to report on all open questions that I have.  The best I saw was generating a maintenance document on the package, but that gives me every element as well.  Is there a simple report or search I could run to give me all maintenance items only?

What about using the Status field?
No, you can't have it!

That seems a bit odd to me.  How would that be setup?  I'm actually surprised there is no canned option in EA for this.  I actually lost some maintenance items because I couldn't figure out how they worked at first.  I was entering some in not realizing which element I had highlighted.

BTW I like the performance of 7.1!

I was able to do this though a custom search.  Adding Element and Issue allows me to pull elements that contain maintenance items.  Running a report on the results provides the detail I'm looking for.  Not ideal, but workable.

What I was referring to was the Status field you can set for all elements, including maintenance items.

In Document Options you can filter by status.
