First the obvious question. Are you running the evaluation version of EA? [Perhaps you evaluated EA and did not reinstall the product when you acquired a registered version.] The evaluation version will always ask for some kind of credential; perhaps it is using the key each time.

Perhaps you have not set up a retention period for the key. If so, EA might think it needs to rent a key every time. Make sure the keystore program is set to provide a key for a reasonable duration, before asking for another registration. Try a week, and see if your problem goes away.

Also, make sure your copy of EA has the necessary network mapping to 'see' the keystore program, and that it is looking in the correct place.

The necessary information is in the help file for keystore. This file is distributed as part of the keystore package. AFAIK it is not available for separate download.

Thanks for the help

This is what the problem was:

When I added the key I then selected it an then clicked return
It worked when ,after adding the key, I did not select it and clicked close.

I discovered this by noticing that my key disappeared in the keystore program after I hit return.

I have just read the manual closly expecting that I would warrent a RTFM comment. It appears my mistake not all my fault.

I reinstalled so I could give a better explanation of my stuff up
but the registry keys remained and the addkeys was not required

I could give a better expaination if required by installing on a clean computer.

I recommen d the close button necanded to close/done so that people like me done read it as close/cancel

Chad

Chad,

I urge you to make this suggestion to Sparx directly. At the very least they should be able to amend the help file and repackage the kit.

You'll find the appropriate form by clicking the Feature Request link underneath the Support link near the bottom of any forum page.

Reported to sparx

Quote
when selecting a shared key. Change the UI button names
Close -> Close/Done
Return -> Return Key

I read them as
Close/Cancel  and
Return/Done

THe Doco does not discuss this window at all. ( I think)
