Profile <<redefines>> connection

I would like to ask, how can i use connection stereotyped with <<redefines>>, when i am creating profile ? (... i didn't find something in EA help)

This type of connection was used to include an unmodified metaclass in the toolbox for a profile in the old toolbox mechanism.  (Pre 7.0)

Since the toolbox can now be defined independantly of the profile itself this is no longer recommended unless you are targeting EA 6.5 or lower.

I thought it was for redefining standard items? I used it to define Requirement with tagged value "Source" and making it look like standard requirement...
Are you saying this is wrong approach to it?
If so how should it be done now?
