Hi,

We need to formally review the models in EA. We wish to:

  • Baseline the model so that everyone in the review works from a consistant version.
  • Identify what has changed since the last review.
  • Record Issues and Defects against the model during the review.
  • Create Change Requests for these Issues and Defects and track their progress.
  • Record the review took place and its outcome. Updating the status of the model as a result.

It seems that there is no common way to do this. EA has several features that would support some of it but it is not obvious how to use them together.

What are experiences of other teams?
How have you solved this common work flow need?

Cheers,

+Doug.

Hello Doug,
Some points that are available in EA:

- Baseline the model so that everyone in the review works from a consistant version.
Yes EA does support baselines.

Identify what has changed since the last review.
Best to use: View | Audit  - set this for auditing changes

Record Issues and Defects against the model during the review.
Create Change Requests for these Issues and Defects and track their progress.
In: View | Maintanance - there are entries for Issues and Defects against any element.  Alternately you can use Issue and Change Custom UML elements

Record the review took place and its outcome. Updating the status of the model as a result.
Post finalsising a reveiw - create a new baseline as log of the reveiw - Then clear your Audit logs.
