I am working with a data model template. I don't see where in the attribute detail the length and unique are set.

{Att.Length}, {Att.Precision} - I can't find where to set these values.

I also want to make a custom value for the rtf to define if an attribute is required or if it is editable.  Any ideas. Any good reference material. What is in the help section does not cover this.

Those fields will be accessible when using the attributes dialog for datamodeling elements (such as table).

Regarding adding a "Custom Value" - You can add a one-off Tagged Value or set up a Profile to include this tagged Value with newly created tables.  The Tagged Value can be reported in the RTF using Element::ValueOF or Element::Attribute ::ValueOf - depending on where you have defined the Tagged Values.  I suggest you look at the Requirements whitepaper for an overveiw of setting up the Profiles for Tagged Values: http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/resources/whitepapers/index.html
