Am I able to attach metadata to elements that would allow me to change the colour displayed in the diagrams based on a chosen attribute? Perhaps a report will allow me to do this?

Also, can I colour elements with more than one colour to show multiple attributes/metadata.

I think it is possible via Tagged Values (metadata definition) and Shape Script coloring. Investigate these terms in help and forum.
