Controlling users working with shared model
« on: July 10, 2008, 10:59:53 pm »
Hello everybody and thanks for your help to my last topics.

Now I´m working with a lot of users on a shared model. I set up the security to manage groups and the users. My question is: Is there a feature in EA that displays the actual working users?

Thanks for your help

You can't list the users who are logged in at a given moment, if that is what you are asking about.

You can see all the user IDs to which security has been assigned, by displaying the Security Users dialog (Project | Security | Manage Users). You can also identify who has set a lock on a given element (right-click on it in the Project Browser and select the Lock menu option).

Hi,

I don't see the "Lock" menu option when I right-click on an element.

How do I know who has checked out a package?

thanks you

The Lock option only displays in the Project Browser context menu in the Corporate edition if Security has been turned on for the project. If the element is not locked, you get the locking dialog to set the lock. If it is locked, you get the message that user xxx has already locked the element.

To see who has checked out a package, right-click on the checked-out package, select the Package Control menu option, then select the File Properties menu option. The message screen that displays depends on your version control software, but somewhere towards the bottom there is an item identifying the person who checked out the package.
