Links between elements within diagram frames
« on: July 31, 2008, 04:54:43 pm »
Hello,

we have a number of diagrams which contain components. These diagrams describe the physical structure of servers in different locations.

Now we want to show the connections between applications, which run on these servers. Therefore we would like to combine diagram frames in overview pictures and link server to server.

As you can see in the picture below, it is possible to link diagram frames (purple line "A"). But we would like to draw lines between elements within these frames (red line "B").

We have created associations between servers, but when we combine diagram frames in one picture, only connections within one diagram frame are shown.

Is it possible to display links between elements of different frames (red line "B" in the example above) ?

Greetings
Bernd

None I'm afraid.

I usually attack this kind of problem by breaking out to a composite structure diagram and linking things up there. In this case my approach is completely inappropriate.

No, you can't have it!
