Z-order for connectors

I am having a problem with a data model in that the connector lines cross over the tables. I want them to go behind the tables. I have tried changing the Z-order of the tables but this has no effect. Can anyone tell how to change the Z-order of the connector lines please?

Sorry, but connector lines always have a higher z-order than objects so that it doesn't look like the connector is going to the object it passes through.
