RTF Documentation Generation
« on: August 20, 2008, 04:22:44 am »
We are currently trying to create RTF docs from our non-functional, functional requirements and use cases. We are required to create a SRS for the phase of the project. We are using Virtual docs creation via EA. The issue we are is:

Our use cases are in many, many packages. We have a feature that touches several use cases across those packages, when we generate the doc we get use cases that are not part of the feature change since EA only allows doc creation at the package level. How do we exclude those use cases that are not affected by the change? We cannot use the date filter, because we may have several features being changed and we want to include the ones for the feature. We do know the use case numbers. Is there a way to include only certain numbers?

Any help would greatly be appreciated

You could do a model search across the whole project or selected parts of it, with a filter for Use Cases. If you cannot define the search to get exactly the Use Cases you want, do a more general search and select the required Use Cases from the search results. Then right-click on one of the selected elements and click on the Documentation menu option. This gives you the choice of creating a reort for each selected element, or a report on all the selected elements.

For full details, look for Model Search in the index of the EA product Help.
