EA on Linux
« on: August 24, 2008, 08:42:15 am »
Hello,

I have been experimenting EA on Linux using CrossOver. However, there are a few annoying display issues (the display of the project browser after hiding/expanding branches, the default font in object notes, etc.).

Now I have tried to run EA using Sun's Virtualbox, defining a Windows VM under linux, and its works great. So I can advise this as a good alternative to the wine/crossover approach. Note that Virtual box allows to store your EA files on the Linux partition and/or to connect on a postresql database running on the host Linux system.

Well done!

And thanks for letting us all know.

Perhaps you could also write a quick email to Sparx Support (I guess) and let them know the various version numbers of the environment. They might be able to update their site to provide this information to prospective Linux users.
