XMI replaced by XML

Hello,
When I put a package under version control I remark that the extension of the exported file is XML. If I explicitly enter XMI in the 'Package Control Options' dialog box (EA 7.1.832), it is replaced by XML. And I would like to conserve the XMI extension in order to unambiguously identify these uml files in scripts.
Can I correct this behavior?
