UML for Testing Profile
« on: September 24, 2008, 03:43:48 am »
Since some days ago, I'm trying to extend the UML metamodel of Enterprise Architect with the UML Testing Profile (U2TP).

Unfortunately the model is using some metaclasses not supported by EA (for example StructuredClassifier, or Property), therefore the simple creation of a new Profile in EA (as described in the standard) is not possible.

Additionally the OMG document includes a MOF schema, but is based on the MOF version 2.0 and EA does not support that MOF version.

Can anybody give me some hints for using EA with U2TP?
Tanks in advance!

When creating a profile in EA, if you need to extend an abstract metaclass, you will need to extend each of its concrete subclasses.

I don't remember off the top of my head what the subclasses for StructuredClassifier are... Class and Component? The UML Superstructure is the place to look.

For the Property metaclass, you will need to extend Port, Part and Attribute.

Some of the metaclasses having another name in EA. For example:
UML: InstanceSpecification
EA: Object

haha, what a coincidence :-D

EA fully supports UML2, so UML2 metamodel as well, isn't it? ;)
