Document Linked Elements
« on: July 18, 2008, 02:57:52 am »
I am using Enterprise Architect 6.5.803. I could not find a way to include documentation for linked elements when I generate rtf documantation.

I am able to achive this functionality in legacy RTF Report generator by checking the "Document Linked Elements" check box in "Options". I could not find that checkbox in new RTF generator.

Is there any other way to achieve this functionlity in the new RTF editor? - Thanks  in advance for the help

Note: I am using the navigation for EA 7.1 (and 7.0 I think). In 6.5 you might need to look around the diagram properties, and perhaps click an "advanced" button or something. I don't have a copy installed so I cannot tell you for sure. I think the option is there though.

It seems that you set this up on a per diagram basis, regardless of the particular report you generate. [Make of this what you will; this just seems to be what EA does.]

Open the properties dialog for a diagram (F5) and click the Diagram tab. The bottom box should provide the options you need. The Document each... option is the one you are referring to here.

David

PS: For all I know there is a report setting for this, but I've not been able to find it no matter how often I've looked.
No, you can't have it!

Yes - the Sections:
Package::Model Document   &
Element::Model Document
Both support the output of RTF data from Linked Documents and Document Artifact Elements.

Excellent news Dermot. These options would provide for sharing additional 'rich' (pun intended) content among reports.
