EA Linux trial
« on: January 05, 2009, 10:23:01 pm »
Hi,

I've downloaded the EA Linux trial version from
http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/support/faq/ea_on_linux.html
and I'm using CrossOver version 7.1.0
When I come to install EA I get the message "Corrupt Installation detected".
Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Thanks,
Joseph.

Hi Joseph,

I've just downloaded the Linux Trial on my own linux machine and installed it successfully. The installers are usually tested on a few machines before they are made public, so if the installer was corrupt it probably would have been picked up in that stage of testing.

It may be worth downloading the installer again in case there was an error with the transfer.
Best Regards,

Michael

Hi,

Thanks for that...
I re-installed CrossOver and created a default win98 bottle by attempting to install DCOM98. (As opposed to the instruction where you create the named bottle before installing DCOM) .
Installing EA into this default bottle seemed to work OK.

Thanks.
