[profile] Boundary - default appearance
« on: August 21, 2008, 05:16:58 pm »
hi,
is it possible (and if yes - how) to change the default appearnce of a stereotyped (extends MetaClass Boundary) Boundary in the way that e.g. it has dotted line and rounded rectangle as defaults.
=> i guess that there are some system attributes which can be set like _defaultLineStyle = "dotted"
=> but the documentation does not tell me anything like that

greetings from vienna,
gerold

Hi Gerold,

I'm not sure how much success you will have with Boundary elements, but here's two places to look.

First try the Settings | UML dialog, which should default to the Stereotypes tab.

This will give you several options, and let you create shape scripts for the stereotypes. You can read the EA documentation for some more information.

This is not a complete solution by any means, but it covers most of what EA will allow for 'default' cases.

Second, take a look at creating a template package - not quite the same thing as a template profile - and setting appearance there. You can also try template profiles, but I cannot remember if the appearance of elements can be set, or if it will carry over.

Please let us know how things go.

HTH, David

PS: Greetings yourself, from Ottawa.

No, you can't have it!
