Size of 'Description' on Element?

I have searched the user guide and cannot find the default size of the description field - notes. Is there a default size; what is it; and can it be extended? We have some very large descriptions on processes.

It should be a memo field, essentially unlimited in length.

The size limit depends on the database backend.

OpenEdge has a limit around 30k.
MySQL and PostgreSQL have 64k.
I don't know of any limit for the other databases.
