Reverse Engineering COGNOS artifacts
« on: April 30, 2009, 03:33:36 pm »
Hi all,

We are likely to embark on a project to reverse engineer (by harvesting) a number of COGNOS artifacts (principally from PowerPlay and Impromptu).

Does anybody have any experience in getting these into EA?  (Obviously some custom code would need to be written.)

Does anybody have any references to where these artifacts are to be found and their nature?

TIA,
Paolo

Bump!

We may be starting this real soon now - so I'm asking again.

If we built such a tool would there be any interest in it?

TIA,
Paolo

Dear Paolo,

There are a number of applications on my IT estate developed with Cognos, for which there is little if any schema definitions. This MDG would be very useful to me personally.

kind regards
