Strange CVS Abbort Error in EA

While trying to import an XMI Model, I could not "Add Branch to Version Control".  I received the error "cvs [ add aborted ] : there is a version in ea0 already."

I have read the referenced whitepapers on Versioning EA Products, reviewed material in the User Guide and searched these forums.  

Any ideas?  I have no idea what the ea0 folder is (which is empty locally and in cvs) or how to properly set up Model Braching from an existing XML Model.
