Use case text and use case diagram
« on: August 10, 2009, 07:24:16 pm »
Hi everybody,

What is the "correct" way to include use case text into a use case diagram? Should I use the Scenario tab or should I put this in a note on the diagram?

Best regards.
K.

If the text is part of a use case use the scenario option. If it is particular to the diagram, and would not be displayed on another diagram that contained the same use case, then you might consider the notes route.
No, you can't have it!

Just in case...

In the EA help index look up Link Notes | To Element Feature. You can use this to display a scenario of a use case on a diagram. The linked note is 'live' in the sense that changing the contents of the scenario causes the note to update and vice versa.

[Since I don't know exactly what you want, this might be applicable to your needs.]

This is actually what I was trying to achieve. Thanks again for your help! Now, I have all the use case texts directly visible on the diagram.

Best regards.
