Design Patterns
« on: August 27, 2009, 05:44:46 am »
I am planning on using EA 7.5 on a project and wanted to check with this group if the product can support the maintenance of "Design Patterns" for SOA. If the answer is yes, can the interfaces between the patterns be defined too?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Chaim,

What is the source of the "Design Patterns" for SOA?
Additional background information is always useful.

kind regards

The “source” is the architecture/design phase’s output/deliverables. This process will generate enterprise level design patterns that will be used by all architects and development teams. The vision is that going forward everything will be in-line with “one” enterprise architecture (centralized and/or federated) in order to support less complex, less expensive, and well connected IT environment.

Examples include: Massaging, Security, Audit Trail, Work Flow, Transformation Patterns, etc.

EA supports the definition and use of design patterns.
Whether they work in the context you whish to use them is something you'll have to try out yourself.
