Numbering Activities

Hi,

Can anyone help me in telling me how to get a unique number on an activity without having to type it into the Name field on properties.  I have a huge process diagram which relates to a requirements catalogue which has its own unique numbering and I am trying to add this numbering to an activity.  At the moment I am havng to display it as part of the activity name e.g.

PR0001 Submit Purchase Order.

But this is poor as it is part of the text and the alignment is all out depending on how many characters you use in the activity name.  I have tried using 'Alias' but when I have selected 'use alias if available' check box in the diagram properites.  The alias overwrites the activity name leaving me with only the alias.

I am trying to do something like the below

-----------------------

  Submit Purchase
         Order

                 PR0001
-----------------------

The position of the unique number does not have to be in the corner as long as it is seperate from the name and is associated to the activity.

Any help much appreciated, as I have trawled the forums and help text in EA with no luck.

Look at Settings | Auto Name Counters
You can do an auto name for the name or alias (or both)

I tried that but it does not make it seperate from the text in the activity.  Iahve tried placing a Activity Element on the activity which enables me to insert free text into the box that hovers over the activity edge but its not great and not what I'm looking for!!!!!!

I you use the rectangular notation you can show things like features, tags, constraints, notes,...
I you use one of those things to store the number you could show it on a diagram.
