RTF Editor: using {Pkg.Name} in header?
« on: July 28, 2009, 12:32:18 pm »
Is it possible to place a field such as {Pkg.Name} in the header or footer of a document?

I have tried, but the field is not substituted.

The package fields are only accesible in the Package Section not across the whole document. However there is a new feature in build 846 that gives user-defined fields "Project Constants" that can be set as custom Project fields and placed in the Header & Footer.

So I use this, but it really is a workaround!

Why? Because you have to set this value manually for each package that you want to document, and it's unhealthy to declare values twice in ICT country. (Because of the mistakes that can come out of it.)

Perhaps a better workaround would be some fixed values that are possible in the header/footer section.
