Import WSDL to see the flow from Port to Type?
« on: January 09, 2010, 04:08:14 am »
Hello,

I'm quite new to WSDL's and web services and EA for that matter but I'm hoping to use EA to analyse my WSDL document.

I've got 5 operations on one port and each operation has loads of messages that are linked to other messages and complexTypes and some are linked to complexTypes. Up until now I've been using XML Notepad to jump around the WSDL document but it's a nightmare and I really want to use something visual.

I've created my first EA project and selected Project > Web Services > Import WSDL...

I can now see it in the Project Browser and there are tabs along the bottom of the Project 'workspace'...

What I was hoping for is a PortType that I can expand to see the PortTypes that i can expand to see the Messages and Types and ComplexTypes and how my ComplexTypes or Objects are made up...

This is so I can then use this visual tool to create my ActionScript code and send screen shots to the Server developers who are creating their Server-Side Objects as well.

Perhaps I need to do some tutorials to get me going with EA. I've heard good things and really want to get to grips with it so fingers crossed it can help me...

Thanks for any comments and tips!

Nick
